Best Double Camping Cot
Ivation EZ Bed
The Ivation EZ Bed double camping cot meets or exceeds most of the critical factors when choosing this kind of product. Easily one of the best qualities of this camping double cot is the included air mattress, which is exceptionally comfortable thanks to the inclusion of 48 inner coils.
While not ideal for backpackers, this double camping cot is still extremely portable thanks to an ingenious design that allows it to pack up inside of itself into a wheeled suitcase. This packing design works both ways; however, as the Ivation EZ Bed camping double cot is also self-deploying with a built-in pump.
That air pump comes with further advantages as this camping double cot can accommodate multiple firmness preferences from plush to medium to firm. While not all of the dimensions are the largest, the Ivation EZ Bed two-person camping cot is the widest model reviewed at 61” wide, which ends up being one of the most important dimensions when sleeping, two people.
Bottom Line: So long as you do not try to lug the Ivation EZ Bed double camping cot around with you, the sheer size and number of both comfort and convenience features make this moderately priced option a no-brainer.

- Review several of the best double camping cots on the market
- Give our unbiased #1 pick of the best two-person cot.
When planning a camping trip, it is important to remember that however much time you spend in nature, you will still spend about ⅓ of your time sleeping. Just as comfortable sleeping arrangements at home are vital for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, so too is good sleep necessary for an enjoyable camping trip.
While that is all good and well for single campers, things can get a bit trickier when you bring couples into the mix– especially if they are used to sleeping together.
That is why we put together a list of the 7 best camping cots for two people, highlighting what each one does best. We also provide a helpful buyer’s guide, so you can figure out which features are the most important to get your much-needed beauty sleep when camping with cots.
Factors to Consider When Purchasing a Double Camping Cot
Comfort can be a tricky consideration to rank when camping as many people look at camping as an opportunity to test themselves by “roughing it.” However, if you are looking for a double cot, then chances are you have already decided to favor comfort over other factors.
For double camping cots, it is first important to determine whether you intend to sleep on the cot’s fabric or an air mattress positioned on the cot. Keep in mind that even the sturdiest and most comfortable cot fabric will pale compared to the comfort of even a decent air mattress.
That said, if you decide to go with just the cot’s fabric, one thing to look out for is the support system as many camp cots include a bar that bisects the frame and creates an uncomfortable pressure point. On top of that, a middle bar tends to separate sleepers and makes it more difficult for couples to cuddle.
Dimensions & Weight Capacity
The cot’s dimensions will play a considerable role in the suitability & general comfort of the product, especially if more than one person intends to sleep on the cot. Of the dimensions, generally, the two most important to look for are the length and width with the height only mattering if you have a specific preference.
The length matters more for taller people than shorter ones, but it can still assist in comfort in general for people who like to stretch out while they sleep. That said, the width will matter regardless of how you sleep and matters doubly more if you need the bed to accommodate multiple sleepers.
In terms of weight capacity, this is more important depending on the weight of the campers with smaller, fitter people able to get by with a lower maximum weight capacity. Of course, double camping cots with higher maximum weight capacities tend to be more durable and support sleepers better.
Packed Size & Weight
While most camping gear often values the packed size and carrying weight fairly high since you have limited space, this should not be one of your primary concerns when choosing a cot. Granted, there are some instances when this might be more relevant– like if you opt for combo camping cots.
Still, by choosing a double camping cot in the first place, you have already decided that sheer efficiency is not your top priority. That said, there is no reason a cot has to be challenging to transport nor occupy valuable space that could otherwise be used for different gear altogether.
Between these two qualities, packed size generally matters more for most people as those using a camping cot likely have their packed gear’s space limited by the cargo capacity of a vehicle. The weight tends to matter more for getting the cot into and out of the vehicle.
Materials & Durability
All products need to be durable to provide a good value, but some types of double camping cots need this factor to be more of a priority than others. For example, a simple cot provides little more than a frame, and the fabric does not necessarily need to go above and beyond.
On the other hand, if the cot is a combination product with an air mattress, a tent, or another external feature, the durability matters a bit more. This is especially true for an air mattress where a failure of the mattress can be difficult or impossible to fix– especially in the middle of a camping trip.
In terms of fabric, the most commonly used cot fabrics are polyester and nylon, often with a PVC covering for water resistance. On the other hand, the frames are almost always made out of aluminum or powder-coated steel, both of which are incredibly strong and water-resistant.
Best Double Camping Cot: The Results
Disc-O-Bed Large with Organizers
Best Bunk Cot
Disc-O-Bed specializes almost exclusively in this unique type of product, which provides plenty of insight and knowledge in how to make the best bunk cot we encountered. However, this model is even better than its intended use as it can be converted into two separate camping cots as well as a sitting bench during the day.
Disc-O-Bed also made it a point to ensure that you do not have to worry about this entry holding up under regular use with a 600D PVC polyester fabric and a powder-coated steel frame. This combination of materials provides plenty of resistance against water, but it also allows this product to hold 500 pounds.
While the Disc-O-Bed cot may not be as wide as some of its competitors, it still provides plenty of space for the single occupant at 82” x 36” x 32 ½”. On top of that, this product packs down into a 32 ½” x 15” x 5” carry bag and weighs 36 pounds per cot– though this means the combined weight is a hefty 72 pounds.
Regardless, the real issue with the Disc-O-Bed double cot is its price, as all of these unique features make this an expensive option. While that is to be expected for such a unique and versatile design, it would be more helpful if these innovations did not also make this model more challenging to assemble– especially considering its numerous setups.
- Is more durable
- Heavy duty 500 lb weight capacity
- Packs down into a 32 ½” x 15” x 5” carry bag
- Is more versatile
- Is more expensive
- Not the easiest to assemble
Kamp-Rite 2 Person Tent Cot
Best Tent Double Cot
The Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot comes from another company with a highly specific focus, which allows them to make the best tent cot we came across. The fact that this entry comes with a built-in tent will enable you to eschew the need for additional shelter without giving up quality.
For example, this is one of the more durable camping cots on our list thanks to the use of 190T TPU nylon for the fabric and canopy as well as aluminum for the frame. Like other sturdy camping cots, the Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot resists water well and affords an excellent maximum weight capacity of 500 pounds.
Beyond the weight capacity, the Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot allows you to comfortably sleep two people in the same cot with an 84” x 53” x 40” profile. As if that were not enough, this model is another model that can convert into different types of camping furniture, like a lounge chair.
Of course, like some of the other more versatile options on our list, the Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot is an expensive product. It also does not help that the large dimensions and built-in tent make this one of the least portable models we reviewed with a carry bag packed size of 56” x 34” x 8” and a heavier weight of 51 pounds.
- Is 84” x 53” x 40.”
- Heavy-duty 500 lb weight capacity
- Has a built-in tent
- Is more versatile
- Is more expensive
- Not as portable
Coleman Camping Cot, Air Mattress, and Pump Combo
Best Combo Double Cot
Coleman is by far one of the more recognizable and experienced companies on our list, which allows them to provide plenty of features at an excellent value. The Coleman Airbed Camping Cot is a perfect example of this as it is a less expensive option that also comes with features not found on more expensive competitors.
An excellent example of this is the included air mattress that provides a more comfortable sleep but can be detached and used separately if desired. To further highlight the value this entry affords, the Coleman Airbed Camping Cot also comes with a battery-powered air pump, so you do not have to worry about wasting your breath.
On top of that, this is one of the strongest camping cots we encountered with a maximum weight capacity of 600 pounds, likely due to the steel frame. Even better, the Coleman Airbed Camping Cot is one of the more comfortable entries in terms of size with a 78” x 59” x 22” profile, giving you plenty of width for two people.
There are no real dealbreakers in terms of flaws, but the mattress and its design are not ideal, with the mattress being extremely noisy as you move around at night. To make that issue worse, the mattress does not lock into the cot’s frame, making it feel unstable and sag at different places depending on where you lie.
- Has an air mattress and pump
- Is 78” x 59” x 22.”
- Has a 600 lb weight capacity
- Is less expensive
- Is extremely noisy
- Mattress does not lock
Ivation EZ Bed
Best Inflatable Double Cot
Ivation is one of the few companies on our list that not only does not specialize in camping gear but does not have much of a focus beyond general consumer goods– though this allows it to make things easy and comfortable. To that point, this is only the second entry we reviewed, which comes with an air mattress.
While that is nice, what sets the Ivation cot’s air mattress apart from competitors is its construction, which includes 48 inner coils for comfort and support. However, general consumer goods also must be easy to use, and the self-deploying system of this model might be the easiest we encountered.
Aside from the fact that the frame and mattress quickly unfold, the air pump is built into the design and even allows you to designate the air mattress’s preferred firmness. Even more surprising, the Ivation EZ Bed two-person cot provides plenty of space at 79” x 61” x 24” but also packs down into a compact 26” x 21” x 16” carry bag — not an easy feat to pull off.
Of course, whenever a given product provides more than most of the competition, you should expect to pay more too, and the Ivation EZ Bed is expensive. Also, consumer goods are not made for extreme circumstances, so the pedestrian PVC polyester and the maximum weight capacity of 450 pounds are merely adequate but nothing exceptional.
- Is 79” x 61” x 24.”
- Has an air mattress
- Packs down to a 26” x 21” x 16″ carry bag
- Is easier to use
- Is more expensive
- Not the strongest
TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Camp Cot
Largest Weight Capacity
The name TETON Sports is a bit misleading as the company focuses on camping gear, but that moniker might help explain why they made sure this entry was so strong. Specifically, the TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Camp Cot is the strongest option on our list with a maximum weight capacity of 600 pounds and S-Legs that are sturdier than most.
Aside from the fact this model’s S-Legs allow it to hold up so much weight, it also prevents the need for a middle bar, which allows this model to be more comfortable than most. Of course, the TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Camp Cot can get away with this design because it uses a combination of steel and aluminum for the frame.
Beyond that, TETON further reinforces the comfort and durability by using 600D PVC polyester fabric, which also helps with water resistance. One of the more surprising qualities of the TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Camp Cot is that it only weighs 26 pounds, making it easier to transport.
This cot is not without its issues, though, as its lightweight design still has to contend with a less-than-compact packed profile that reduces its portability a little. This is also not an option if you need to set up quickly as it can be challenging to assemble and does not lock into place as well as other options.
- Heavy-duty 600 lb weight capacity
- Is more comfortable
- Only weighs 26 lbs
- Is less expensive
- Not that compact
- Not easy to set up
Outsunny Portable Wide Folding Camping Cot
Outsunny is an in-house brand of the AOSOM online retailer, and while they do not specialize in camping gear, they still offer excellent value. For starters, this model is inexpensive and able to fit pretty much anyone’s budget while still meeting most industry standards.
An excellent example of this is the provided size of 76” x 49 ½” x 15 ¾” making it wider than some of its more specialized and expensive competitors. Even better, the Outsunny Portable Wide Folding Camping Cot employs 600D PVC polyester for the fabric and steel for the frame.
For those who may want to hike to a more remote camping spot, this 2-person cot has you covered thanks to the lightest design we reviewed at only 24 pounds. As if that were not enough, the Outsunny Portable Wide Folding Camping Cot is one of the few entries that combines that also provides a compact profile at 38 ¼” x 7 ½” x 6”.
That said, budget-friendly products tend to fall short of higher-end competition, and the Outsunny Portable Wide Folding Camping Cot is not the most durable option we reviewed. To make matters worse, the solid size of this double cot does not make up for the fact it only has a maximum weight capacity of 300 pounds.
- Is 76” x 49 ½” x 15 ¾”
- Only weighs 24 lbs
- Packs down into 38 ¼” x 7 ½” x 6″ carry bag
- Is less expensive
- Not the most durable
- Not the strongest
Double Kwik Tent Cot
Our final entry comes from Kamp-Rite, a company specializing in producing mid-tier products at lower prices than most. To that end, the Kamp-Rite Double Kwik Tent Cot is inexpensive, but it also provides a vast range of specs compared to the competition.
For example, this model provides more space than most with an 85” x 55” x 19” profile that is both one of the longest and widest entries on our list. To further reinforce the solid range of specs afforded, the Kamp-Rite Double Kwik Tent Cot also offers a tremendous maximum weight capacity of 500 pounds.
Continuing to fall in line with industry standards, this two-person does not suffer from durability issues thanks to the combination of 600D PVC polyester fabric and a steel frame. What makes these specs all the more surprising is that the Kamp-Rite Double Kwik Tent Cot is lighter than most at only 33 pounds.
Unfortunately, this 2-person cot could not pull off the portable duo as its packed size is more significant than you would prefer at 42” x 11” x 11”. That said, the biggest issue with the Kamp-Rite Double Kwik Tent Cot is its support construction, which uses the dreaded middle bar and can make it uncomfortable to sleep on without an air mattress.
- Is 85″ x 55″ x 19″
- Has a 500 lb weight capacity
- Only weighs 33 lbs
- Is less expensive
- Not the most compact
- Not the most comfortable
